I don't but in a river the natural order is limited to the river itself.

That would make it fairly predictable.
I would find out what the minnows and the introduced forage was and when they spawn and the types of water that they prefer. I would also find out about the crayfish populations and all sorts of stuff.


The stripers know where the different types of baitfish live and will go to those areas when they are most abundant.

The key is the bait and where it is found at any given time in the river.

The state biologists must have studies on your rivers and they keep records and publish them.
Students at the Universities get their masters degrees and Phd's based on these studies.

They are not about fishing but about the river systems and how they work.

That is what I would do to begin.

It will evolve along those lines.
