I do not know what that fly is but it is big and is in a pond so I would think it is some sort of Hexagenia Mayfly. The nymph is a burrowing nymph and likes silt and mud bottoms but..

Post this on the Trout and Salmon board and ask lots of questions there as you will get good advice and perhaps meet up with some one who can show you the ropes on your home water.
