Subject: Needlefish

I have a needlefish that I have caught few fish with (probably mostly by accident). I'm never sure what scenario is best to use them in. I have read on the site to fish them real real slow, and if there balanced right, they will sink slowly, and then you bring them back up. But, when do you use this technique. Crashing surf over rocks? beach? still water say in a harbor? When/where do needlefish (the actual fish) appear and feed? Thanks a lot.
