Only thing I would add is a swivel - not a snap -between the double line and the mono. I have not used suffex braid but I will. Merch fishes hard and I will try it. He is also right about stiffness in braid for spinning. It is a big asset. I still like power pro becasue I have had more success with it than problems. I agree with the mechanics and especially for finesse techniques.
Casting and reeling with straight retrieves causes less problems but it is a simplified way of fishing that leaves you few presentation options. Kind of like a sinking line and a hand over hand retrieve. Boring... and mindless and often - way too often -fishless... and wondering.
