I throw a 12 ft rod rated 2-6 oz.with a Abu Garcia 7000HSN with 20 lb Big game with 18 ft of 30 lb shock leader. I do the majority of my plugging in the Cape Cod Canal where not only are you fighting the fish you are fighting the current. When I'm plugging an open beach with little to no objects to snag on I'll drop down to 15 lb test to gain a little extra length in the cast.
