Subject: Re: Stripers in Fla?

Somewhere I learned that there is striper fishing in the St. Johns river in northern Florida. In order to check my memory out I looked it up in The Fishing Encyclopedia by McClean, and The Complete Book of the Striped Bass by Karas. Sure enough, there are stripers in the St. Johns, and to my surprise in the rivers from western Florida to Louisiana. One river in Louisiana has bass of 40 pounds. These southern bass rarely enter salt water.
