Brian,
I took all my stuff the first year. Borrowed travel tube to carry my rods and shelped the rest. As my good friend keeps inviting me and I continue to go and explore the area, I bought a light (And inexpensive)spinning outfit to leave down there. I still carry all my fly stuff since I can pack most of it in a suitcase. I do pack heavy though.
I have not used rental stuff although I would guess that you could find it easily enough. If you look up Ace Hardware in Naples and give them a call I'm sure they can direct you to rental stuff. Good luck.
