Hi Brett
I’m hardly one to give advice about fly fishing but I’ll share some observations.
Use what you know about fishing other areas find the current look for converging water and fish lateral to the beach. I see a lot people casting straight out but the fish seem to be hold along the seams. I also struggle with surf fishing with a fly rod because I don’t do it that often but like most things the more you practice the better you get. I have found floating line with 3 fly works best.
