Cheers Ken. I've had a good look at those articles... Very good I think, but you knew that LOL.
Water tables ? The flat areas between sets that slide back out under the incoming wave. Thats how we refer to them. In the past, I've used a sinking line, cast parallel to the wave/shore and the undertow has then taken the flyline and fly out to the next wave or under it at least. This method HAS produced fish but it just doesn't FEEL right. We often, well not often, but when we do visually see Bass in the wave, its usually actually in the face about 2/3rds down the trough.
They sometimes run with the current, but many times they hold against it picking and darting at stuff thats being moved laterally along the beach.
seeing them IS rare though as the best place to spot fish is on a clash of lateral tide right in the middle of our main bay "St Ouens" which is a true Atlantic storm beach. Next stop, USA. Britain had its biggest recorded and "surfed" wave here in a little reef area to the south of this beach. It measured 28 feet high and it carried the surfer way up across the sea defence wall and onto the highway.
It is rarely fished by anglers, bait or otherwise. Our guys like ease of location and ready meals. A box of frozen squid, high tide by the road where there is a car park.
So, the reason I'm frantically trying to acquire information is because we have no precedent.
Posting again ?
Long story Ken. I was warned last year April 2006 that at my weight 20st 12lb and my back injury not withstanding that i was, with a BP of 220/151 very likely to die of heart failure in the immediate future.
I was taking so many pain drugs to control severe back pain and that caused untold side effects.
So, between then and now, I have taken up cycling. Rode 14,000 miles in training, given up smoking, eating BAD food, very little alcohol. Cholesterol was 9.1 !! Now its 2.4, weight is now 13st 9lb.
Total turn around, I was lucky. Yes, I've had to work damn hard to get here, but now I'm back out fishing and doing all the things i love doing. The outlook is good for the future so I'm back on the trail of research and writing.
Sorry to bore you all with that, but its just you let you know that life is precious and worth holding onto.
enough said.
