I think I'll skip work today
Go down to the river and play
Pack up all the stuff
free time's made up of
flyrod, spin rod and gear
just the grass roots things you need near
No phone, no books
No not for this
I simply don't want to miss
a single thing that nature permits me
to touch , hear, smell or see
I'll fish the late part of the day
into the night
feel for that first hit
a striper. moon lit.
everything is just right
at one with nature the whole night
Here in this moment
I will stay through first light
