I love fathers day.
Moms day off!!
I went fishing yesterday , all afternoon and evening
in the river by Dighton Rock.
The current was really moving and the tide was going out.
There were fish EVERYWHERE,
seriously, i did not know where to start.
I thought best to use my spin gear because all the
splash , splash , splash( constant action)
was out of my fly-reach...
i went through my small arsenal of plugs.
caught several blues on some small rapalas ( sinking)
they were not very big, but they fought and jumped like tarpon. i had fun.
Then I heard a few familiar splashes near the sea grass , closer to shore.
So , after the blues moved out of reach..
I tried where i saw some water being " pushed "
closer to shore.
Ah ha.
my fish of choice, right there under my nose.
nice sized bass on some GP shrimp that I " borowed"
off of Nick.
Well, nice sized meaning, if i did that fresh water type of fishing.. like some people seem to like.. They would have been records,
( or at least trophy winners)
It was a peaceful day.
There are a lot of fish over there.
i was really surprised.
I am not usually blessed with walking into a situation like that on my own...
I usually have to be led to the bounty.
rare.
