Cichlids are pretty cool.... I had a huge tank in my basement for many years full of them and all their little progeny. The tank ended up being pretty much self sustaining at a stable population of about 40 fish. Ultimately, the tank maintainance got to be too much.

I'm getting the itch to do it again though, with a smaller 30 to 55 gallon set up.... Not sure whether to do salt or fresh and cichlids again....
