Subject: The finer points of “doodling” |

Funny term. Can this type of fishing from a place above a flow be considered finesse fishing? The best success is had (at least for me) when using finesse type rigs in the flow but fished in a manner which isn’t really finesse. Jig Length is very important though and so is weight. It seems that a “doodled” jig leaving a wake on the surface is much more productive than a subsurface presentation (most of the time). There is nothing finessey about the strikes either. They are down right violent!
