While kayak fishing my friend opened my eyes to these fresh water techniques. He's an avid fresh water bass fisherman. I was fishing w/ the usual braid and heavy leader not getting touched. He was having a ball w/ 1/8 oz jig w/ a 3" salt shaker on 10lb mono straigh to the jig. He'd let it sink pop it, slow roll sink pop etc. It didn't take long before I was doing the same and catching my share. I remember reading on this board about using these freshwater techniques so it was a kick to see it.
