Actually when it comes to spin rods I am an absolute beginner. I've owned one (or several) most of my life but never learned much more than "chuck it out and reel it in". I actually caught my first striped bass on a spin rod this year!

I know there is as much to learn here as in flyfishing and a lot of fun to be had. Learning a new set of tools and techniques puts the challenge into a different perspective and makes the whole experience that much richer and I'm looking forward to it.
