Good points Nick.
Once I was fishing with some kids in a canoe in a little pond. One of the kids was tying small floating rapala about 6” below a bobber. I was trying to tactfully point out the error of his ways when he plopped it in the water and we all watch a nice small mouth slowly rise up and take the plug. I learned from that kid, I don’t use a bobber with plugs but anytime I cast a floater I let it sit a bit, then twitch it some, then retrieve.
