Last night was another experience with trying to notice patterns. The swirls or rips in the current would apperar in front of me and then disappear and reappear down stream a little. The fish were there and when the approaching thunderstorm got closer more surface activity happened. I had to get out of there though because the last place I wanted to be was in the water with a 10'6" fly rod. Now if I could only figure how to ground myself to the shore somehow. My guess about these rips is that they carry the bait and the fish find them and ambush the bait in the rips. I think I need to start doing more fishing late at night than fishing till dark and leaving. I am getting to the point where I think I'll have enough of a feel for things to be a better night fisherman.
