I know what yo are talking about Mark. It is very sad.
A good friend of mines who is a psychotherapist says that behavior is a sign of arrested infantile development. The whole world is an extension of themselves and there is no room for anything or body that is not - an extension of themselves.
They needed to be breast fed a bit longer or something.
If it is not a teate just for their pleasure then kill it - is how they want to act.

You are dealing with emotional immaturity not fisherman.
