Subject: Re: Fixed Lights and surf fishing

This brought back a great memory from last year. I was visiting a friend at Point Lookout, NY and I fished under the Loop causeway. As with most bridges it has huge MV lights. It was a major struggle to get down to the water and the only accessable spot was one that had me backcasting all night and standing on sharp rip rap at the base of the bridge BUT the feeding at the shadow line was wonderful with a mixed bag of bluefish, stripers and shad. It was a memorable night because I was eight again. I saw something and thought about it and found a way to get to it and was rewarded with memories. I fished totally alone until the sun and the boats came and I suffered the looks from boaters as I put the rod in my teeth to scramble back up the hill through bushes and pines.
