I hear what you're saying, Ken. There's no need for an open discussion of the "Why"s of fishing to wreak havoc and strife. But it often does. The man who introduced me to striper fishing was catching bass before I was born. He has taught me so much and asked only for friendship. He is the best fisherman I've ever fished with. And I swear I'd walk through fire for him. Lately when we discuss the "Why"s of fishing, he becomes almost angry with me. Because sometimes I don't agree with his ideas. One of his fishing strengths is a complete openess to new lures and techniques. He gives everything and, I mean everything an honest try. A true strength. I can't fish that way. It feels too random. Give me a decent "Why" and I'll work with you. The "Why"s give depth, character, and food for thought. Neither approach is better. I almost forgot! This stuff often happens at night.
