I've had failures with the eggs using screw eyes. Eventually they seem to pull out, even if you epoxie them in. They are easier though. If you do go with the eyes, run a heavy line from the top eye to the bottom eye just in case they pull out with a fish on. Know of some folks that only use one eye and they say it's better, I've never tried this so I can't tell. Personnally, I prefer to drill though the egg myself and rig with wire or heavy braid. I like to use about 2 ft. of running braid going through my eggs. I feel this helps in setting the hook with more "umph" without counteracting the resistance of the egg underwater. I usually use my eggs on the out going at breachways with a floating diver. Short cast across,, free spool half way to Block Island, close bale let it swing, and bring it back slowly. By varying the swing and retrieve you can cover a lot of ground and depths (per cast) this way.
