What are your preferences for staying attached to the rocks?
I've recently noticed a lot of surf fisherman saying they get by with just felt, and these are veteran anglers so I have to respect it. And felt does hold on clean rocks and even rocks with a bit of black slime fairly well.
For me though I like my Korkers, the lighter lace up style. Or anything else with metal spikes. They just grab through bubbleweed, thick slime, and whatever else seems to accumulate on the rocks much better then felt ever could. Sometimes you're walking on clean rocks, but you might need to walk somewhere that requires the extra bite of metal studs. Possibly when landing a big fish...
Thoughts?
