These have been my favorite places to fish ever since I started free diving three summers ago. There is deep water on you right an there may be shallow water to your left. What i like most about these spots are the white water. It is very exciting to see a fish take you plug as it eneters or leaves the white wash.
When i first started to free dive in boulder fields I was amazed. I never knew how massive the rocks actually where. There HUGE and everywhere. Some are protruding from the water, some are just below the surface, and some are way under. What i like to do when fish these areas is to seperate sctions of the water that i plan to fish and concentrate a lot of my ime on just fishing those few sections. These sections that I make up though are based on the bottom structure that i have grown to know because of my free diving expirences. When i went free diving i would trake notes are certain ground structure, or just where the most fish seemed to be hanging out. i also noticed quite a few patterns that the stripers would make when roaming around these boulder fields. so when I first head down to a location i would like to fish amonigst the rocks i will usually start out with a surface plug depending on the surf. if it is sloppy, i like to use a sub-surface plug to get just under the wash. Then like I said before fish only cetain sections of the water. The only thing i can say to help you out is maybe you should throw on a mask and snorkle and take some notes on the spot you are going to fish.
