What I like about the rocks is that once you find a rock or a crevice that holds fish it usually does so year after year.

When I fish the rocks I drill them hard. Many casts at many angles to get your fly just right in the fish's line of site. I fish them with a short line, always less than 30 feet and usually less than 20, so I have utmost control of my line and fly.

I look for pockets with lots of wash and current that will sweep baitfish into it.

Swinging a fly into a pocket with a receding wave has been productive for me.

I love the rocky surf. It is one of my favorite places to fish
