I have just ordered my first boat (Angler 18' C/C) and I am entertaining trolling motor options. I live in western Connecticut and will be fishing the shore of LI Sound. Between wind and much anticipated solo fishing I believe trolling motors have appeal as many of you do. Like others, I have the same reservations about bow mounting and have become intrigued by the Lenco combination units which you can see at the included URL. I have spoken to a couple of users and have heard good things about them. The "pushing on a string" issue is lessened as these are like having twin screws (total of 164# or about 6hp). They are not cheap and I was wondering if anyone out there has knowledge of them that could add to my decision-making? Thanks in advance.
