I am sure it all works Jeff. I want to see for myself. That is why I am asking for patterns that people have used and caught fish on consistently. IT is pretty simple. Not hearsay or read in a story but have used and found to be consistently productive. Lure manufactures are notorious for putting new lures on the market and letting the people decide for themselves. Some last some don't. Some are so good looking that they sell even though they don't catch fish very well. All of them get good write ups when they first come out. Some work and some don't. The write ups are promoting the lure or the fly.
Some have pictures with the write ups and even so some of those lures do not catch fish very well.

Flies are no different. Some work and some don't.
It is not the write up that counts.
I think that finding out which ones work yourself is a good idea. I can't think of a better way to find out.
