Thanks Jaybird. No one is loving to hate anything except horse manure about flies that get lots of press but don't work as they are said to.

Jigs are great lures but they have not replaced flies and flies have not replaced jigs.
Man made materials flies are only apart of the larger whole. They are not better or worse than any other fly. If they do the job then they are good and if they don't perform the way they are advertised then they are frauds.

The larger stuffed animal flies are frauds from the results that they have not achieved (no documented big fish) in the field not in teh media.
People should be told about that otr they will continue to believe a lie.

It is not emotional attachment that counts just the facts.
That attachment to feelings or the desire for fame for tying the next best and greatest fly and the media hype that comes along with it to get people to buy it is a big problem in the salt.
You seem to take asking for clarity about a fly's performance personally for some reason.

IF every fly fisherman used the same fly - a jig fly -
and agreed that it was the greatest fly in the world would that make it true?

I do not think so .
So we ask for clarity and proof of claims.

That is not going to change.
One type of fly does not fit everybody's needs.
Pretty simple stuff if you stop and think about it reasonably.
