Truth be told, I never use lead eyes. I use lightweight brass eyes, primarily for a hook up orientation. Works great on the shallow flats of cape cod bay where I do most of my fishing. Better (easier for me anyhow) hooksets than a bendback and with the right material distribution/amount cast like a bucktail fly.
