I keep hearing folks say, with a atraight face mind you, that all they are interested in is catching one fish on the flats and that is why they fish on the bottom with jigs and their fly rod.
It is always amazing to me how incredably well people can make up things to soothe their egos.
Get some real flies and a floating line and fish the flats lots of ways and you will catcth more fihs and if you want to put on a jug you can do that too.
You should be able to catch 30 or more fish on a average to good day. Other people do it all the time but they do not fish only one way. IF you are having very limited success then face up to it and change your approach. YOu do not lose if you grow The only thing that is stopping you from growing is fear of the unknown (real flies and floating line presentation) and intolerant peer pressure.
Stay trapped by it and nothing will ever change.
Wake up flats guys! This can be real fly fishing and you are getting older. You are missing the best and sweetest part of flats fishing and time is running out!
