Went with my Kayak on Friday, 6/16/06. Hundreds of fish from 16 inches to "bigger than your leg" cruising the flats in 18-24 inches of water. TRere were allot of fisherman and the fish were spooky. I watched a few guys catch fish after fish out of channels on weighted flies but they caught nothing bigger than 20 inches. I only landed 4 fish but the smallest was about 30 and the biggest closer to 40 inches. I used an eelie like fly that had a chartruse saddle tied curve up and a grizzly olive tied curve down with some olive body braid for the body. the fly was about 2.5 inches lond. That is all it was. Learned that the kayak is great to get out there but a liability when your in it. I spooked fish after fish in the yak. while on the flats they alerted to it sonner than me just walking. It was a beautiful day, no clouds, no wind and I was wet wadding.
All in all a great day to forgo work!
