Over the weekend(Easter morning), I was fishing the Yellow Breeche's Catch and Release Area. Hooked three large browns around 3lbs. that broke my tippet. 7X tippet, my not being accustomed to such small tippet, and being rusty after a winter of no fishing accounted for that. I did land a small brooky, a sucker, and a couple other fish. I hooked a large Palomino as before described on this board. There were many, many fish and most could be observed with the naked eye. Large browns and rainbows in the high teens and low twenties to be found throughout the creek. This fish are heavily fished and thus the trick was great presentation and constant switching of flies. Random or seldom used patterns were what caught fish. I had twenty inch fish dodge flies. the fish didn't flush or get spooked to the other side or out of the pools, they just wouldn't take. Got very frustrating watching drift after drift denied. It could get very Long light leaders were completely necessary. If the tippet was under ten feet and over 6X you'd have no success.
