It's not very minimalist at all altough for gearheads and chronic-over tiers it could be considered that way. You do not need as many flies as they say in the books and magazines, but it is good to cater to different situations. It is all relevant to the preferances of the fisherman. I don't carry a ton of flies, but on the average a few more than ten patterns
